Amanda & Atlas

I love this sweet family session so much! Amanda, her husband, Seth, and their daughter, Atlas, are about to welcome a baby boy into their family. Amanda wanted some mother-daughter photographs while Atlas was still the baby of the family. Atlas was one of the most spunky and interesting little girls I have ever met! We had to let her tire herself out a bit on the trampoline, where I also got to show off some of my old gymnastic skills. She also had a rope in her room and trapeze bars in the yard! I always feel that photographs of children are so much brighter when they are doing what they want to do, and not being posed into something unnatural. Thanks Amanda, Seth, & Atlas for letting me document your sweet family.    ~K

savannah, ga

i hit off to savannah, georgia this weekend to get out of town and have a weekend to myself. i stayed in a gorgeous ca.1888 home (pictured below) that was close enough to all the action but distant enough to wear I felt I was in a real neighborhood. i started off with a short bike ride to forsyth park for a stroll and coffee at the sentient bean. later on, after much walking and riding, i had a delicious dinner at the florence where i got a little tipsy, so i called it a night.

the next day, after another coffee from the sentient bean, i visited alex raskin antiqueshistoric bonaventure cemetery, and tybee island.  january 2015

arrow apple festival

“for the last five years, arrow has hosted an annual apple festival, celebrating apple harvest time, and the fall season, for our community…

this year’s festival was this past saturday and we had a beautiful fall day and saw lots of friends!

each year, arrow sells mountain apples from ellijay, georgia as a fundraiser, as well as fresh cider. there is also an apple pie contest where many restaurants and friends bake pies…yum! Also annually, amanda kapousouz serenades us with her fiddle tunes and our friend bird smith (age 9) cuts an apple themed block for us to print from…!

it is such a fun day… !”
